Founded in 1885, in Richmond, Virginia, by Linton O. Miller, Webster S. Rhoads, and Simon W. Gerhart, Miller and Rhoads flourished from the beginning. Noted for its Tea Room, the "real" Santa, and friends meeting "under the clock", the store for many years was a premier and well-loved Richmond department store. Richmond was the site of the flagship store for over 100 years. Closed in 1990, Miller and Rhoads is still remembered fondly today.

This magnetic notepad features original ink illustrations by artist Pat Cully. Pat Cully worked for Miller and Rhoads for nearly to 30 years in the advertising department, illustrating merchandise. She now illustrates images of the department store and days gone by, hoping to keep the spirit and tradition alive.
